Vancouver is a coastal city on the mainland of British
Columbia, Canada.The eighth largest Canadian
city and the most densely populated city in the country. Vancouver
has been ranked the top cities worldwide as the most livable cities with one of
the highest standards of living, and the cleanest cities with an overpriced
real estate market, which have helped to make Vancouver one of the most
expensive cites to live.
As host city to many international conferences and events including the Commonwealth
Games, UN Habitat, Expo 86, and 2010 Winter Olympics.
Vancouver is located on the Burrard Peninsula, and lies between the Burrard Inlet to the
north and Fraser River to the south.The Straight of Georgia, to the west, is shielded from
the Pacific Ocean By Vancouver Island. Until the city’s naming in 1885, “Vancouver ” referred to Vancouver Island,with some believing the the city is located on the island because the island and the city are both named after Royal Navy Captain George
Vancouver has one of the largest urban parks in North America, Stanley Park.
Vancouver is one of the warmest Canadian cities with
moderate temperatures when compared to other Canadian cities.The summer months are typically dry, with an
average of only one in five days during July and August receiving rain when in
contrast rain falls nearly half the days from November through March.
